Welcome to the Pembroke Regional Hospital website!
At PRH we are proud of our history, the partnerships we have formed within the communities we serve, and the high quality of care we provide on a daily basis to residents in need.
Our Hospital has come a long way since its inception in 1878, but despite all the growth and change that we have experienced in order to best meet the needs of our communities, we continue to base the care we provide on the warmth and spirit of our founders, reflected in the current mission, vision and values we abide by today.
At PRH we have much to be proud of including our newly-opened William H. Higginson Hemodialysis Unit, created in partnership with the Renfrew Victoria Hospital which is responsible for its operation, and a brand new tower completed in 2005 as part of a $46 million expansion. The new tower consists of a new ER, a 10-bed ICU, a 22-bed Inpatient Rehabilitation Unit, a 40-bed Medical Unit, a 19-bed Acute Mental Health Unit, Diagnostic Imaging with CT and Nuclear Medicine and Outpatient Rehabilitation.
We also continue to embrace new technologies as evidenced by our PACS and wireless computer systems, and our Telemedicine link to the University of Ottawa Heart Institute, CHEO and other healthcare facilities.
And our services continue to expand through a growing number of ambulatory clinics, new partnerships with Ottawa and Renfrew County hospitals and an exciting new affiliation with the University of Ottawa’s Faculty of Medicine furthering our reputation as a teaching centre for students in many healthcare disciplines.
I believe the times ahead are very exciting ones for this community as we build upon recent growth and successes to develop a state-of-the-art local healthcare system which is responsive to the needs of all residents, and I believe our entire healthcare team is up for the challenge.
