New Services:

Systemic Therapy (Chemotherapy) Satellite Service – Pembroke Regional Hospital and The Ottawa Hospital Regional Cancer Program have teamed up to offer this service. Under the leadership of Dr. Joel Ward, local physicians provide support on a rotational basis to the clinic.

Patients are referred by an oncologist in Ottawa and Telemedicine is used to access oncologists and other professionals from the Regional Cancer Centre. The clinic runs Monday to Friday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. and is located in an outpatient area close to diagnostic imaging.

Stroke Prevention Clinic - Run by the Pembroke Regional Hospital’s District Stroke Centre, this new clinic operates five half-days per week under the leadership of Dr. Debbie Timpson. The clinic is best suited for Transient Ischemic Attack (TIA) patients or those who have had very mild strokes with no lasting permanent effects. Referrals to the clinic are made by a family physician or through the Hospital’s emergency department.

Patients who are referred to the clinic are triaged and given rapid access to diagnostic services, health assessment, diagnosis and treatment. Referrals to other services such as neurology, neurosurgery, the dietitian, the diabetes clinic, cardiovascular rehabilitation, and smoking cessation among others may also be made if appropriate.

We are privileged to be able to assist patients in meeting their health care needs. If you have questions, comments or concerns, please call (613) 732-2243.
