In 2009, 180 volunteers (22 being honorary life members) contributed more than 20,000 hours of service to the Pembroke Regional Hospital. The Auxilians are proud that they are able to contribute their time and energy for the betterment of services provided to their neighbours, their friends and their families.
Our $1 million commitment to supporting hospital endeavours has been paid off in 2009. In addition to the $100,000.00 contribution, the Auxiliary also furnished a renal chair for the new Dialysis program at a cost of $50,000.00. The Auxiliary further committed to sponsoring a birthing suite, valued at $75,000.00 for the New Maternal/Child Care Program on the 4th floor of the Pembroke Regional Hospital which also has been paid.
In 2010 a new commitment was
made. The Auxiliary will donate $1.7 million to purchase new Cardiac monitoring
equipment for the hospital. The present equipment has become outdated and must
be replaced. As of March 31, 2011, $219,000 has been paid to the hospital toward
this commitment.
In March of this year (2009)
our $1 million commitment to supporting hospital endeavours, was
realized. The hard work and commitment of our volunteers made this
dream possible and we are proud to have been able to finalize the
million $ donation in 8 years.
During the 8 years while
working at paying off the million $, in September 2007, the Auxiliary
also met a commitment of $50,000 to furnish a renal chair for the new
Dialysis program.
In June, 2009 the Auxiliary
paid $37,500, the first installment of their commitment to sponsoring a
birthing suite, valued at $75,000.00 for the new Maternal/Child Care
Program on the 4th floor of the Pembroke Regional Hospital. At the Fall
Festival Tea in October of 2009, the second half of the commitment was
donated to the hospital.
Plans are now underway to determine our next fiscal commitment to the Pembroke Regional Hospital.
