Renfrew County Geriatric Mental Health Outreach Program
The Renfrew County Geriatric Mental Health Outreach Program provides
comprehensive assessments for persons over the age of 65 years of age
experiencing mental health problems. In order to receive a consult, the family
physician must make the referral. Older people suffering from behaviour/personality
changes, manic or depressed mood, psychosis, anxiety, memory loss and medication
review can benefit from a consultation.
The team includes Geriatric Psychiatrists from the Royal Ottawa Mental Health
Care Group who partner with the team to provide this service. Follow up visits
are provided as required. There is no cost for this service; a health card
number is required.
All Renfrew County residents who qualify for the service will be seen in the
area of the County where they live. Education and training is also provided to
professionals and families on a variety of geriatric psychiatry topics.
To reach us please call, (613) 735-6500 or 1-877-260-0535, or by fax (613)
