The William H. Higginson Hemodialysis Unit is located on the Ground Floor, Tower C (Lorrain Wing). The Pembroke Regional Hospital provides housing and support services for the 6-station dialysis unit which is a satellite unit managed by the Renfrew Victoria Hospital. Patients on hemodialysis normally receive three treatments each week for four-hour sessions. The treatments cleanse the blood of impurities, a function normally performed by healthy kidneys. The unit serves Pembroke and area residents including Deep River, Petawawa and Eganville.
