The Maternal and Child Care Pediatric /
Adolescent Program

The Maternal and Child Care program is located on the 4th floor of Tower A. This is a regional program which provides care to maternity, ante, and perinatal patients.

Family centred care is the basis for care within the maternity unit. This area consists of birthing suites that have been recently upgraded to reflect the recognition and understanding of the unique needs of newborns, their mothers and families. Within the unit is a comfortable family lounge, new whirlpool patient baths and pleasantly decorated and equipped patient rooms to help staff provide care for patients and celebrate with families the birth of each new child. Each birthing suite is equipped with the entire standard requirements for a comfortable and safe delivery experience. A new HUGS baby security system provides 24-hour surveillance for the new baby.

The Pediatric Adolescent Unit is located on the south wing of Medical 2A. With a family-centred focus, parents are included in their child’s care as much as possible.

Pediatric Day Surgery patients are accommodated in the Surgical Day Care area of the Surgical Unit on the third floor of Tower A.
