Walk For Her Surpasses Goal, Raises More Than $50,000 For Local Healthcare

5/11/2026

The Pembroke Regional Hospital Foundation is proud to recognize Lana Gorr, founder and organizer of Walk for Her, for another outstanding year of community fundraising in support of local healthcare.

The 2026 Walk for Her raised an incredible $50,402.51, more than doubling its fundraising goal of $20,000. Since the event began in 2021, the annual fundraiser has now contributed an impressive $185,060.51 to support cancer care and priority equipment needs at Pembroke Regional Hospital.

What started as a grassroots effort has grown into one of the community's most successful annual fundraising events, bringing together participants, volunteers, sponsors, donors, and community partners who share a commitment to enhancing healthcare close to home. The event's continued growth is a testament to the collective effort and support of the many individuals, businesses, and organizations that make Walk for Her possible each year.

"Year after year, Lana's passion and dedication continue to inspire our community," said Roger Martin, Executive Director of the Pembroke Regional Hospital Foundation. "The success of Walk for Her demonstrates the incredible impact community fundraising can have. Funds raised help support priority equipment and initiatives through our Together, We Care Campaign, ensuring patients can access exceptional care right here in the Ottawa Valley."

"I'm overwhelmed by the ongoing support from our community," said Lana Gorr. "Every donation, every participant, and every volunteer has helped make a difference for local patients and families. I'm grateful to everyone who has supported Walk for Her over the years.”

The Pembroke Regional Hospital Foundation extends its sincere thanks to Lana Gorr, the Walk for Her committee, volunteers, sponsors, participants, donors, and the many community partners whose support has been instrumental in the event's ongoing success. Their generosity and commitment continue to make a lasting impact on local healthcare and the patients and families who rely on it.
