Petawawa Toyota and Ontario Toyota Dealders Association Donate $50,000 For New CT Scanner

11/8/2025

The Pembroke Regional Hospital Foundation is thrilled to announce a significant contribution of $30,000 from the Petawawa Toyota Team, joining forces with the Ontario Toyota Dealers Association (OTDA) and their allocated funds of $20,000. Together, the $50,000 in combined donations will support the purchase of a much-needed new CT scanner for the Pembroke Regional Hospital.

The new CT scanner will enhance diagnostic capabilities, reduce wait times, and ensure patients across the region have access to faster, more accurate imaging services close to home.

“We are honoured to contribute to our local hospital,” said Jimmy Lapointe on behalf of the entire Petawawa Toyota Team. “The Pembroke Regional Hospital provides vital health care for our friends and families, and we all have to get involved to support them.”

Dr. Marlene Van Gentevoort, Radiologist at the Pembroke Regional Hospital and long-time customer of Petawawa Toyota, expressed her appreciation.

“As a resident of Renfrew County and a Radiologist at the Pembroke Regional Hospital for over 33 years, it is vital that we have the support of business leaders like Mike Douglas and Jimmy and Brenda Lapointe of Petawawa Toyota to help us equip our hospital so that we can provide state-of-the-art care to our community. Thank you sincerely to the Petawawa Toyota Team for this donation.”

Dr. Todd Gauthier, Family Physician at the Pembroke Family Medicine Teaching Unit and Petawawa Toyota customer, echoed this sentiment.

“As a customer of Petawawa Toyota for over 30 years, this is a great team and an excellent service department. We are so thankful for your donation that will go towards the CT Scanner, a piece of equipment we are so dependant on for cancer care, diagnosis and treatment planning.”

The Pembroke Regional Hospital Foundation expressed deep gratitude for the generous support.

Lisa Edmonds, PRHF Board Chair shared, “This is a prime example of buying locally, supporting local business and in turn that local business giving back to their community in a big way and we are so grateful to the entire Petawawa Toyota Team.”

“Petawawa Toyota has been a supporter of the hospital for decades now,” said Roger Martin, PRHF Executive Director. “They said it best at the cheque presentation ‘giving begins at home’. We not only thank their team but remind them that they are leaders in the community who have lead by example time and time again in their support of local causes. Thank you once again for choosing to support local healthcare.”

Fundraising for the CT scanner is part of the Foundation’s ongoing efforts to equip the hospital with state-of-the-art technology, ensuring residents of Renfrew County and surrounding areas have access to top-quality care without having to travel long distances.
