Local Resident Donates $15,000 Towards CT Scanner Purchase

29/8/2025

The Pembroke Regional Hospital Foundation is honoured to announce a generous donation of $15,000 from Russell Howell of Petawawa, a grateful past patient of Pembroke Regional Hospital.

This heartfelt gift has been made in loving memory of Mr. Howell’s late wife, Pauline “Blondie” Howell, and will support the purchase of a new CT scanner for the hospital.

“I’m so appreciative of the care I received at the hospital, and I wanted to give back in a way that would help others in our community,” said Mr. Howell.

“Making this donation in Blondie’s memory feels like a meaningful way to honour her and support the hospital that has helped us so much.”

The Pembroke Regional Hospital Foundation is currently raising funds for vital medical equipment, including the new CT scanner, which will provide faster, more accurate diagnoses for patients across Renfrew County.

“We are incredibly grateful to Mr. Howell for his generosity and for choosing to honour his late wife in such a significant way,” said Roger Martin, PRHF Executive Director. “Gifts like this make a lasting impact on the quality of health care available to our entire community.”

The Foundation continues to welcome donations of all sizes to support the CT scanner and other critical equipment needs.
