CNL and NLPC Donate $250,000 To Together We Care Campaign

17/6/2026

The Pembroke Regional Hospital (PRH) Foundation is proud to recognize a significant contribution from Canadian Nuclear Laboratories (CNL) and Nuclear Laboratory Partners of Canada (NLPC), who have committed a transformational $250,000 donation in support of the Together, We Care campaign.

The announcement was made during the campaign’s recent public launch, where Dennis Carr, President and CEO of Canadian Nuclear Laboratories, spoke to the importance of strong community partnerships in advancing local healthcare.

“We hope our investment sends a clear message that CNL is committed to supporting our community, not only today, but well into the future,” said Carr. “As one of the area’s largest employers, CNL recognizes the importance of supporting the communities where our employees live and work. Supporting initiatives like enhanced healthcare helps build healthy, resilient communities that attract and retain the workforce needed for our region’s continued success.”

This significant gift will be pledged over a five-year period and will directly support the purchase of a new CT scanner — a critical piece of equipment that will help enhance diagnostic capabilities, improve patient care, and ensure patients across the region can access timely, high-quality care close to home.

“This level of support is incredibly meaningful as we continue to build momentum for the Together, We Care campaign,” said Campaign Chair Dr. Christy Natsis. “It reflects a shared commitment to strengthening healthcare in our community and will have a lasting impact on patient care.”

PRH Foundation Board Chair Lisa Edmonds also acknowledged the importance of the contribution, noting the role of both community and corporate leadership in helping move the campaign forward.

“The generosity shown by CNL and NLPC is a powerful example of what can be achieved when organizations come together in support of healthcare,” said Edmonds. “This investment will directly benefit patients and families across our region.”

Executive Director Roger Martin emphasized the impact of the donation on the campaign’s progress.

“We are incredibly grateful to CNL and NLPC for their leadership and generosity,” said Martin. “Support like this helps ensure we can continue to invest in critical equipment and meet the growing needs of our hospital.”

PRH President and CEO Sabine Mermsann added that the Together, We Care campaign is the PRH Foundation’s largest campaign to date, focused on enhancing patient care through investments in equipment, innovation, and technology.

“Medical equipment is essential to delivering excellent care. New and updated technology improves outcomes, helps us recruit and retain physicians and staff, and, most importantly, helps patients return home safely to their loved ones,” she said.

“Through incredibly generous donations like this, this campaign will help ensure our hospital has the modern equipment, technology, and resources needed to provide the best possible care for the people who rely on PRH every single day.”
The Together, We Care campaign is built around three important pillars that will help shape the future of healthcare at PRH.

The first focuses on improving access to care through the implementation of the Epic Integrated Health Information System, giving patients access to the MyChart portal and allowing them to play a more active role in their healthcare journey.

The second pillar will strengthen diagnostics and treatment through the replacement of our CT Scanner with a next-generation model that will provide faster imaging, more accurate diagnoses, and improved patient outcomes.

And the third pillar will address other urgent, high-priority equipment needs throughout the hospital, ensuring patients and families can continue receiving exceptional care close to home when they need it most.

Help us build the future of care, right here, close to home — because together, we care.
